1) Once again I am not going to be a teacher. Although, If I was going to teach a certain grade level it would be first grade. If I were to use a web 2.0 tool, I think I would use Flickr with my students. This tool allows students to upload photos for projects and simply just for art. Flickr also gives you the option to highlight(or box in) a certain portion of the picture. Then you can comment or critique this sample of the picture. So, If there is something important I need to note then I can include my information around the selected portion of the picture. This would be an easy site for my students to use when analyzing important historical photographs. I am a visual learner and I like to incorporate a variety of art into my education. I would love to provide my students with this web 2.0 tool so they can enjoy photographs and learn at the same time. Like they say, "a photograph contains a 1,000 words." Here is the link to learn more about Flickr... http://www.solutionwatch.com/519/back-to-school-with-the-class-of-web-20-part-3/
2) I think web 2.0 can be useful in the k12 educational levels. It depends on what grade level you are targeting and how you incorporate the material. The instructor needs to make sure he/she is clear on directions when teaching the students how to utilize the functions of web 2.0! If a student understands how to navigate web 2.0, then this tool should be a fun and educational experience. Also, the teacher can use web 2.0 sites to include along with lectures. This will allow the teacher to have a variety of different teaching methods. This will also prevent a student from getting bored and distracted. The student can be involved in a fun and interactive way.
