1.)I think I did a good job at creating a power point for the assignment. My power point was very educational and visually pleasing to the eye. Although, I could have worked on the linear part of my power point. I could have included more review questions for the students so there was more interaction going on. Although, I did follow all of the steps and included the major concepts that needed to be in the presentation. I should have allowed myself more time to complete the power point.
2.)I didn't read much on this section so I will answer as accordingly as possible. I would have my students create flow charts and hang them up an the wall. Or, I would just incorporate a lot of artwork to depict what subject I am teaching to my students. My students could create paintings or drawings that relates to math, history, science, English. etc.
4.) I am so glad that I learned how to navigate and utilize power point 2007. I really only knew the basics of setting up power point for past projects. I am glad Ms.Kim showed us how to use animation techniques and navigation buttons. This really allowed me to expand on my power point assignment. I will definitely use power point in my future for further class presentations or assignments. Maybe one day I can use power point in my future career!

1) There are some advantages and disadvantages to using presentation software in the K12 classroom. An adavantage would be for your students who are visual learners. Some students learn by linking images together in their head to formulate a flow or pattern. Sometimes you can not just verbally explain a process but, you must give images(pictures) and verbal explanations. A disadvantage could be that the presentation software can be seen as distracting. Instead of allowing the kids to read and do assignments on their own, your basically doing it for them. By displaying the information on a projector is allowing the students to skip out on reading the material for themselves.
2)If I were to use powerpoint for presentations I would incorporate interactive tools to involve my students throughout the learning process. I would set-up review questions at the end of the powerpoint for the students to answer. I would have links in the power point to different slides that have the right/wrong answers. Then I could reward the students with candy for picking the correct answers. This way the students are paying attention and learning new information I am presenting them with.
3.)I don't think twitter and facebook should be used in the classroom. These websites are a major distraction for students. They can chat with their friends about things that aren't related to education or assignments you have posted. They should use other tools such as WIKI to interact with other classmates on an assignment.

1) I would not be using many web 2.0 resources with the young students I would be teaching. If I were to be teaching a higher grade level then maybe I could integrate these resources more. Although. I would be teaching 1st grade students. Let me mention again that I don't plan on being a teacher in my future. Im just speaking as if I were going to teach for the requirements of this assignment.
2) I wouldn't advise using WIKIpedia because my teachers haven't allowed me to use this in my past courses. I believe research should be strictly online databases for empirical references. These online journals are peer'reviewed articles that can support your research. The information in WIK pedia may not always be correct information. It may contain false information or bias. You wouldn't want to include this in your research. You can get points deducted for this in class.
3) I can use WIKI space in my future teaching career. Many times there are group projects and it is hard to meet with everyone out of class. If there are scheduling conflicts, you can callaborate ideas over the internet. WIKI is perfect for adding ideas together via the internet. Students can work together on there on time instead of having to meet up. This would be a more useful tool for high-school and college students.

1.) The Internet is very useful for student research. I believe it is very useful when the student has a huge research paper to prepare for and they don't know much about their topic. Although, you have to prepare the students to be aware of bias and websites that are not legitimate sources. The programs students should be using are the school library databases online. These databases provide peer reviewed journals and articles that are empirically based. These journals site all facts and have been reviewed and proven to do so. As far as other pages I believe students should just be aware of scanning the website and looking out for bias and false material. Students should be taught to critique a web-page, like Kim showed us in class. Then students can be more aware of the information they are collecting and how to site it.
2.) If I were to be a teacher It would be for younger students(1st-2nd grade). The web resources I would allow my students to use would be search engines such as google and yahoo. This would be to search for images(google) so the students could create poster boards and fun art projects. Also, they could use yahoo to search for material I ask of them. These search engines could get them familiar with using the Internet for later work in the future. At this age I believe this Is all I would ask of my students to be familiar with.
3.) Since I would be teaching young students, I would need to supervise them very carefully while they are on the Internet. I would need to have a "parental-control" or a locked setting in place so that inappropriate content doesn't pop up. I also will need to assist the students when using search engines. I will need to monitor their spelling to make sure they are getting the appropriate results they need for the topic they are searching for!

1) If I were going to be a teacher I would want my students to understand the Inspiration program. I am a visual learner so I think these flow charts are very useful. You can link the verbal messages to the flow chart and understand how the process works. I could show my students a flow chart and ask them to create their own version. This way they are looking and reading through my examples. Then they are applying the material in their own words. This process would give my students a chance to practice and retain the information they are reading.
2.) I would encourage my students to develop outline, idea map, and storyboarding skills. These are all great processes that allow the student to brainstorm and organize their information. Outlines create organization so students don't have loose information straying from the topic. Outlines are easy to create and fun to follow. This is a great tool that all students should be taught. Students need to learn organization early on. This will help them prepare better for papers and tests later on in their future.
3.) I really liked learning about the google and yahoo search windows. Its obvious that I have been using these tools for awhile but, it was nice to know some facts and short-cuts on how to use these tools. Kim taught us some short-cuts in class that I know I will continue to use and apply in the future. I like learning about searching for definitions on google so I won't use Encyclopedia anymore. I also learned how to narrow your searches by eliminating other closely related material to your topic. This way you can have exactly what you need instead of tons of other material that pops up unrelated to what you are searching for.
